You guys! I totally took photos on my run today! And then I got home, downloaded them, and realized my mobile phone camera has officially been cheeked. I.e. has spent too much time in the mouth of an infant and now only delivers hazy, blurry photos that remind me of a migraine.
Not to be deterred in my constant quest for quality content, I decided to share them anyway, just because. Photography lovers, look away now.
So Herr Mini G. and I headed out this morning for a jaunt around Treptower Park with the Cheekmobile. This was notable for two reasons: 1. Morning. Usually I time the run to coincide with the Cheeks’ afternoon nap, but this was a revelation: running in the morning is awesome! I still had pillow creases on my face when we left the house, but whatevs. Cheeks seemed to enjoy it as well. Must do that more often. And 2. Treptower Park used to be one of my weekly running destinations (in fact I posted photos of it once before, here), but I hadn’t been there in a year and a half. Nostalgia! - How many times have I run in this park? And this is the first time I ever noticed it has a lake?
- My old friend the Sowjetisches Ehrenmal, from behind (the gate was locked.) That fence means serious business, no? I wouldn’t mess with it. It has spikes at the top.
- River Spree.
- River Spree.
- Random abandoned building.
- There is a rollercoaster in this photo. Do you see it? It still has the cars hanging off it…
- Little-known fact: I once won a 20km race on this very stretch, probably the only race I will ever win. It was the middle of December, freezing, snowing, and very few other people felt the need to run 4 5km laps in the woods at 10 a.m.
- I would never run mini-laps in front of the train station in order to reach exactly 10.00km on my garmin.
- The Cheekmobile in action.
- Taking a photo of your legs is really not as easy as it looks.
- The good people at Mizuno were kind enough to manufacture these shoes and make them available in German running shops so that I could spend €100 on them. Thanks guys! (Srsly, Mizuno Wave Nirvana = awesome. Oh, and the gross sticking-out leg veins are c/o Pregnancy.)
- …and back to the train station…
