Ok, no running was involved, but it was at the gym! And I had on running shoes. And I even broke a sweat! 30 min. walk/hill program on the treadmill, moderate intensity, followed by some weights and core work. Total was about 1 hour, 20 min. Refueled with pizza.
On another note, I would also like to report that no cats have peed on me yet today. That makes two days in a row.
Workout + pizza = balanced life! And it’s all about the balance.
The balance keeps you sane. Last summer my friends and I would get together every Wednesday for a 60-minute run. It was sometimes 95 degrees even at 9:30 pm when we finished. Whew! So after that we’d swim in a spring-fed pool, and then –every week– we hit up the local greasy spoon for 1/2 price hamburger night. Recipe for success!

Funny, I do the same in the summer with a running friend – after work we head out to the Grunewald, this big forest-with-lakes on the outskirts of Berlin, and run for 60-90 minutes. Then we go swimming in our sports bras and shorts to cool off, before heading home (soaking wet and again fully dressed) in the S-bahn. Naturally pizza is the perfect way to end the evening.
